Vinyl Panel Construction – A Guarantee of Durability
The innovative construction of vinyl flooring ensures its durability and long-term, trouble-free use. These panels consist of several extremely durable layers. The top layer is scratch-resistant and hard, followed by a structured layer that gives the floor its natural appearance and a layer of transparent vinyl. Another layer provides decorative design — a texture that realistically imitates stone, concrete, or beautiful natural wood. Quick and easy installation is also a plus, thanks to click systems like I4F.
Waterproof panels from collections like Aqua Profi or Aquatus New Rigid offer exceptional durability due to their resistance to wear. However, no flooring should be exposed to extreme temperatures or significant temperature fluctuations. The resistance to scratches — and especially to water — makes vinyl panels a top contender on today’s flooring market.
Vinyl Panels – Key Information
Before buying vinyl panels, it’s important to check whether the type you’ve chosen will suit your space. The utility class helps determine the floor's durability, while the wear layer thickness — typically 0.40 mm or 0.55 mm — corresponds to class 32 (similar to AC4) or class 33 (similar to AC5). Based on this, vinyl flooring (LVT or SPC) can be selected similarly to laminate flooring for residential rooms, hotel spaces, or public-use areas. A versatile and often recommended choice is class 32 vinyl flooring with a 0.40 mm wear layer. Of course, higher classes such as 0.55 mm are also available.
How Many Years Do Vinyl Panels Last?
The question of vinyl panel longevity is one of the most frequently asked — and rightly so, since we want our flooring to look great for many years. Vinyl panel manufacturers often offer warranties of 20 to 25 years for residential use.
In public-use spaces, the warranty usually ranges around 3 years (for both LVT and SPC panels). Provided the flooring is used as intended and installed correctly, this warranty period gives confidence that the panels will maintain their appearance during that time. The actual lifespan, however, depends on many factors — including how the floor is used, where it’s installed, exposure to mechanical damage, frequent water contact, and temperature changes. Proper subfloor preparation is also crucial. These are just some of the factors that influence floor longevity.
The innovative construction, high quality, and waterproof nature of vinyl panels give us confidence that they will serve us reliably for many years to come.
